Job Summary
Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable classified and unclassified software systems from concept to deployment. Define architecture decisions for backend, frontend, and cloud infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Provide mentorship through code reviews and technical discussions, ensuring adherence to best practices in system engineering, testing, and maintainability. Support Agile processes by contributing to sprint planning and iterative delivery, while identifying and mitigating technical risks. Evaluate tools and technologies to optimize engineering workflows and facilitate documentation and knowledge transfer for ongoing maintenance. Requires a Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility, 4+ years of development experience including work in a classified environment, and proficiency in Java, Python, cloud platforms, and DevSecOps.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Associate's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with 12+ years of relevant experience
- 4+ years of software and application development experience
- 2+ years working in a classified and air-gapped environment
- IAT level II
- Active Secret clearance
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI
Desired Qualifications
- Successfully pass background and drug screening
- Comprehensive knowledge of classified/unclassified system architecture, data structures, and algorithms
- Strong expertise in project implementation and deployment, including end-to-end development of software and applications, hardware deployment and configuration, and networking requirements
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD practices for streamlined development and deployment workflows
- Java (or .NET), Python frameworks, and programming skills
- Modern web development skills with JavaScript, TypeScript frameworks or libraries, including React, Angular, CSS, and 508 compliance
- Monolithic and micro services architecture design
- Strong relational Database and ETL skills
- DevSecOps experience
- Cloud workflow automation
- Experience working with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS
- In-depth understanding of networking requirements, network hardening, and networking systems such as routers, switches, and network taps
- Proven experience in implementing configuration changes to enhance system and application security
- Strong knowledge of vulnerability management, system STIGing, RMF, and ATO lifecycle best practices
- Expertise in security principles, including network security and endpoint security
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling web or mobile applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
