Job Summary

Senior Software Engineer, Catalog Platform (Back-End) at StubHub, reporting to 3 World Trade Center in New York when not telecommuting. Responsibilities include enhancing observability and robustness of software systems, optimizing data modeling and storage for downstream consumption, building systems to extract insights from semi-structured/unstructured data at scale, integrating large-scale language models for production use, launching features with impact on velocity of innovation, coordinating personal project tasks, and delivering high-quality backend improvements across platforms. Requires strong back-end development with Python, C#, SQL, .NET, GitHub, JIRA, and cloud experience (Azure; AWS). Telecommuting up to 2 days per week; on-site in New York when not remote.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 3 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or similar back-end software engineering role
  • In lieu of a Master’s degree plus 3 years, Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent plus 5 years of back-end software engineering experience
  • Experience with Python, C#, and SQL in back-end system development
  • Experience building and maintaining complex distributed systems at scale (millions of users, >40k requests/second)
  • Experience with Azure cloud ecosystem (Azure Service Bus, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Explorer, Azure storage, Azure Key Vault)
  • Experience modeling and storing data in SQL and exposing it through microservices
  • Experience utilizing GitHub, .NET, JIRA, and Python
  • Experience deploying and integrating large-scale generative AI models into production back-end systems
  • Experience designing distributed data ingestion and enrichment pipelines with fault tolerance and automated anomaly detection using AWS (EC2, CloudWatch, S3, Step Functions)
