Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer on the Data Engineering team responsible for developing Python data pipelines that build business data objects to support applications. Role involves performing programming and development tasks, interpreting design requirements, building and deploying CI/CD pipelines, implementing source-to-target mapping as pipeline code, and performing unit and integration testing. Requires strong software development expertise, knowledge of SDLC, software product design/architecture, and hands-on experience with AWS components (Lambda, Kinesis, EventBridge, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, Fargate, S3, SageMaker, IAM, RDS), Snowflake, and GenAI developer tools. Senior-level qualifications include experience in Python, Git version control, and collaboration on medium to large teams with modern tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) to deliver high-quality software. Compensation range listed; onsite work five days a week in Peoria, IL / Chicago, IL / Irving, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Python
- Experience building data pipelines and data engineering solutions
- Hands-on experience with Git version control
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Experience with AWS components (Lambda, Kinesis, EventBridge, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, Fargate, S3, SageMaker, IAM, RDS)
- Experience with Snowflake
- Hands-on experience with GenAI developer tools
- Experience designing and developing software applications with OOP principles
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software product design/architecture
- Ability to design, configure and integrate software product components
- Experience with testing strategies (unit and integration) to ensure software quality
- Ability to work in medium to large teams and follow structured development practices
- Experience with AI-enabled coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to improve productivity
