Job Summary
Lead technical solution development for an agnostic software tool chain supporting multiple GM vehicle architectures, including requirements definition, functional decomposition, analysis, development, and testing. Design and maintain test tools for serial data CAN and SOMEIP ethernet communication while executing performance validation strategies for new and existing software features. Serve as a subject matter expert, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement in software engineering processes and tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Tier 1 suppliers to ensure seamless software integration and deployment. This hybrid role requires reporting to Warren or Milford, MI, three times per week. GM does not provide immigration sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5-7 years of experience with hands on Python and/or C#
- High level experience with Vector / CAPL Scripts
- Strong experience developing and maintaining software tool chains
- Strong understanding of serial data, requirements, and complex vehicle scenarios
- Ability to translate complex vehicle scenarios into lower-level simulated environments for testing and validation
- Experience supporting multiple vehicle architectures
- Ability to lead technical solution development, including requirements, analysis, development, and testing
- Experience with serial data CAN communication
- Experience with SOMEIP ethernet communication development
- Experience with automotive cyber security
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers
- Experience creating technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and integrating test plans
- Ability to provide technical leadership, serve as a subject matter expert, and mentor junior engineers
- Experience with Ethernet communication protocol debug, utilizes tools such as wireshark
- This role is categorized as hybrid
- The successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI or Milford, MI, three times per week
