Job Summary

Specify, design, develop, test, release, maintain, and enhance embedded software components for BorgWarner AWD products using model-based design, autocode generation, and embedded C programming. Develop and deploy solutions while ensuring deadlines are met and program goals are achieved. Conduct root cause analysis, resolve defects, and perform peer reviews of work products. Manage software requirements, unit and integration testing, and configuration management to maintain bi-directional traceability. Adhere to Automotive SPICE processes and collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot development issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Communication, or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years professional experience developing embedded software using the C programming language in the automotive, aerospace, commercial machinery, or rail industries
  • 5+ years professional experience utilizing Matlab/Simulink to develop embedded software for production projects
  • Professional experience configuring or interfacing to an AUTOSAR software stack
  • Professional experience of auto-generation of embedded C source code from model-based designs using dSPACE Targetlink or Matlab Embedded Coder
  • Professional experience with software design verification through unit testing in a Simulink or Embedded test framework environment (MIL, SIL)
  • Hands-on experience debugging and correcting model and source code defects utilizing commercially available embedded debugging tools on target
  • Performance of SW Development through adherence to an ASPICE compliant software development process
  • This position will adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner PTC Safety Policy Manual

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with automotive electrical and mechatronic embedded systems (brush/brushless DC motors, solenoids, relays, electromagnetic coils, switches, indicators, etc.)
  • Expertise working with network protocols (e.g. CAN) and associated tools
  • Experience developing software in an AUTOSAR compliant software architecture
  • Experience developing software for ISO26262 Functional Safety compliant products
