Job Summary
Build fleet-management services in Go backed by Spanner, improve the on-device roaster application and firmware control daemon, and harden the over-the-air update pipeline for physical machines. Develop the green-coffee marketplace connecting customers to sourcing and fulfillment, while shipping features across SvelteKit, Swift, and Kotlin apps. Diagnose production fleet behavior using BigQuery data lakes to resolve root causes. Requires on-site presence at Bellwether's Berkeley HQ. You must own end-to-end systems from backend APIs to embedded C firmware, leveraging agentic coding tools as a daily force-multiplier with strict verification.
Required Qualifications
- End-to-end ownership
- Strong systems fundamentals
- Solid in Go or TypeScript
- Comfortable with distributed systems, APIs, and relational/strongly-consistent databases
- You build with agentic coding tools as a core part of how you work
- You use tools like Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor as a daily force-multiplier
- You have a clear point of view on where they accelerate you and where they need a tight leash
- You can describe non-trivial work you've shipped with agentic tooling and how you verified it was correct
- Judgement about correctness
- Pragmatic communicator
- You are authorized to work in the U.S. without Visa Sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- Embedded / IoT, OTA updates, or fleet-management experience
- GCP, Kubernetes, or Terraform in production
- gRPC/protobuf-based service design
- Experience with hardware-adjacent software, or a personal interest in coffee
