Job Summary
Develop engaging experiences for mobile and web applications by designing scalable apps and services within a service-oriented, event-driven architecture. Collaborate with product and UX teams to brainstorm new features, pair with developers to build solutions, and champion automated testing practices to ensure backend system stability. Actively engage in on-call responsibilities, manage incidents, and evaluate new technologies to improve system performance. Optimize SQL databases and APIs while helping teammates resolve blockers across distributed systems.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience, leading large projects on high-scale, distributed software systems as a software engineer
- Proficient in backend development with Node, Python, Golang, Ruby or similar
- Experience with direct usage of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL / GCP Cloud SQL along with migrations, profiling, and optimization of such databases
- Hands-on experience developing APIs, services for mobile applications and web clients at scale
- Successfully delivered complex projects including debugging problems that may span a number of systems
- Experience working with and architecting APIs, event streams, webhooks, etc
- Experience working within and towards a distributed system
- Must be comfortable working with people who aren't in the same time zone
- Must be a permanent US resident
- Must be able to work in a fully remote environment
