Job Summary
Senior Backend Engineer focused on building and maintaining the developer ecosystem powering VibeIQ’s extensibility and integrations. Design, develop, and maintain backend services and tools (SDK, App Integration Framework, APIs, CLI tools) to support the developer ecosystem and enable capabilities for less technical users via the platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define developer-facing experiences, contribute to documentation and tooling, drive quality, reliability, and scalability across extensibility infrastructure, uphold software engineering standards (code quality, testing, CI/CD, security), contribute to the AI stack, identify root causes and resolve issues in the functional scope, and work with internal and external stakeholders to shape a robust implementation experience.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5+ years of backend or platform engineering experience, preferably in cloud-based environments (AWS or similar)
- Experience designing APIs, SDKs, CLIs, or frameworks meant for external developer use
- Proven ability to architect scalable, maintainable backend systems (ideally using Node.js or TypeScript)
- Familiarity with modern backend/cloud technologies such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and CI/CD workflows
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills - you understand that user experience is powered by more than just code
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across distributed systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and external stakeholders
- Comfort with taking ownership and ramping up quickly at a venture-backed startup
