Job Summary
Senior Backend Engineer to scale core services and build new Generative AI/LLM-driven workflows for an AI-powered clinical documentation platform. Responsibilities include shipping complex backend services using FastAPI with MongoDB and/or Postgres, building APIs and infrastructure that interface with LLMs, leveraging AI-assisted development tools, prototyping MVPs and hardening them into secure, scalable production systems, improving backend architecture and observability, deploying and operating services with Docker and AWS, and mentoring junior developers. Must-have qualifications include 7+ years in backend software engineering, distributed systems experience, and hands-on work with Generative AI/LLM-powered systems. Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Startup experience shipping real features in high-growth environments
- Experience designing distributed systems and/or data-heavy backend architectures
- Experience working with Generative AI / LLM-powered systems in production or a strong desire to learn and build in this space
- Strong product mindset and comfort partnering with cross-functional teams
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and move quickly without sacrificing quality
- High standards for reliability, clarity, and maintainability when real users depend on your code
