Senior Software Engineer – Backend (Go / Distributed Systems)

Job Summary
Design and develop backend services and core platform components for a high-performance zero-trust network security platform. Contribute to management services, relay services, and distributed systems architecture while collaborating on design, testing, documentation, and full development lifecycle management. Improve scalability, reliability, and performance by implementing observability solutions and optimizing systems for efficiency and security. Troubleshoot incidents to support production stability. This role requires 5+ years of experience in distributed systems and Go, with a focus on building scalable infrastructure for a startup trusted by hundreds of thousands of users globally.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong experience designing distributed systems
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, routing, protocols)
- Experience with authentication/authorization standards (OAuth2, OIDC, SSO)
- Experience with relational databases and performance tuning
- Experience with unit and integration testing
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a remote environment
- Fluent English
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in Go (preferred) or another backend language
- Experience with VPN or network security products
- Experience with gRPC or REST APIs
- Experience working in cloud environments
- Open-source contributions
- Experience building products used at large scale
