Senior Software Engineer (Backend/Fullstack) — Reliability Focused

Job Summary
Design and build backend/fullstack features using Java 21, Spring, NodeJS, and React while instrumenting services with logging, metrics, and tracing. Define and monitor SLIs/SLOs to guide prioritization between feature work and reliability efforts. Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to and resolve production incidents, writing postmortems and driving follow-up fixes. Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and perform capacity planning and load testing for services ahead of scale events. Collaborate with platform teams on shared tooling while maintaining primary ownership of your service's health. Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews and architecture discussions. This role supports core product features within a 100% remote Latin America team, offering competitive USD compensation and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- deep expertise in Java 21
- deep expertise in Spring/Spring boot
- deep expertise in JPA/Hibernate

- Demonstrated experience owning services in production
- experience debugging services in production
- experience scaling services in production

- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure with AWS
