Job Summary
Own quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems while ensuring support throughout delivery. Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, articulating technical constraints and partnering on decisions that consider risks and trade-offs. Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them. Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and managing on-call rotation. Foster a culture of quality by setting or improving code review and design standards, advocating for them through writing and tech talks. Help develop talent by providing feedback and guidance, leading by example.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a software engineer
- experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale technologies like Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
- experience shipping front end applications
- experience defining a technical plan for the delivery of a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple and extensible design
- proficient at making significant changes in a large code base
- developed a suite of tools and practices that enable you and your team to do so safely
- experience demonstrates that you take ownership of your growth
- proactively seeking feedback from the team, manager, and stakeholders
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- On-Call Rotation
