Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer for Avionics Software Tools responsible for developing and supporting tools that enable avionics airborne software development, verification, and production. Responsibilities include coding, testing, and providing ongoing support for simulation software and avionics configuration tools; implementing DevOps practices to automate software production; developing tools and testing infrastructures to support automated builds and continuous integration; testing across languages including C/C++, Python, Java, and Robot Framework; collaborating with software configuration management and DevOps tools (Git, GitMR, Artifactory, Jama, Grafana, Docker) in Linux and Windows environments. Opportunities to work with desktop and cloud avionics environments, DO-330 qualified tools, and integration of virtual avionics environments on desktop PCs and AWS for continuous testing and demonstrations. Requirements include a STEM degree with 5+ years (or advanced degree with 3+ years), U.S. Person status, prior experience leading small technical projects, and proficiency in C/C++/C#/Python/Java, Linux, Windows 11, and familiarity with Git and automated testing. The role is onsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with a competitive salary range of 86,800 - 165,200 USD and a comprehensive benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field with minimum 3 years of experience
- U.S. Person required for ITAR/EAR information access
- Experience leading small technical projects or processes
- Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: C/C++/C#, Python, Java
- Linux and Microsoft Windows 11 experience
- Familiarity with software configuration management tools (e.g., Git) and DevOps tooling
- Experience with automated testing (unit/functional/high-level tests) and testing of software
