Senior Software Engineer - AI Search (Backend)

Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain backend systems for search functionality, implementing and optimizing AI-driven semantic algorithms and indexing to enhance retrieval accuracy. Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to integrate AI capabilities across the Seismic platform, while monitoring performance to address bottlenecks and ensure low-latency query responses. Provide technical leadership through mentorship and guidance on best practices for search backend development. Work closely with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to deliver seamless search experiences, staying updated on latest trends to drive innovation.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering
- proven track record of building and scaling microservices
- working with data retrieval systems
- 5+ Experience with C# and .NET
- unit testing
- object-oriented programming
- web services
- 3+ Experience with Python
- ability to work concurrently on Python and .NET repositories
- 3+ Experience with Redis
- expertise in managing large-scale Redis clusters
- 2+ Experience with PostgreSQL
- maintaining and performing tuning
- Proficient in Test Driven Development (TDD)
- hands-on experience using xUnit
- Postman to develop automation test scripts
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.)
- Event driven architectures
- tools like Kafka
- container technologies such as Docker
- proficient in microservice frameworks like Kubernetes (K8s)
- Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- expertise in developing Jenkins pipelines using Scala
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across different regions
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the China team and adapt to the China timezone
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- preferably in a SaaS or technology-driven company
