Senior Software Engineer – AI Data Infrastructure

Job Summary
Design and build scalable systems for AI training data and evaluation, owning projects end-to-end from technical design through production deployment. Develop human-in-the-loop platforms, annotator workflows, and related tooling to support leading frontier AI labs. Solve complex scalability, reliability, and distributed systems challenges while collaborating with research, product, and design to ship features quickly. Write clean, maintainable code, contribute to technical documentation, and make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, simplicity, and maintainability. Identify problems proactively and drive solutions independently within a small engineering team at an early-stage, post-Series A organization.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience preferred
- Strong coding fundamentals in Node.js and TypeScript, Python, and/or Go
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and system design
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, APIs, and NoSQL databases
- Strong ability to reason through technical trade-offs and balance speed with reliability
- Active GitHub profile with real projects demonstrating a strong builder mindset
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with a high-output engineering team
- Proactive approach to identifying problems and driving solutions without extensive direction
- High-accountability mindset and ability to perform effectively in a demanding startup environment
- Strong bias toward simple solutions to complex problems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
