Job Summary
Architect and build systems, tools, and frameworks enabling data scientists and developers to create, deploy, and operate agentic AI applications on the C3 Agentic AI Platform. Advance agent accuracy by constructing evaluations, grounding, and feedback loops that measure correctness, reduce hallucination, and track override rates in production. Drive agent performance through latency, throughput, and inference cost optimization across distributed runtimes. Strengthen agent safety by implementing inherited permissions, guardrails, human-approval paths, and rollback mechanisms to ensure autonomy remains bounded. Collaborate with data scientists to define platform utility and requirements, while mentoring junior team members. This role operates within a high-bar environment where production accuracy and safety are critical, supported by a fully-online master's degree funding program.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in computer science, math, or a similar field
- Strong command of software architecture and design principles
- Track record of designing scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems
- Making architectural trade-offs deliberately
- Thorough knowledge of data structures, algorithms, profiling/optimization
- Object-Oriented and Functional Programming
- Strong programming skills in Java
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript
- High proficiency with agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor)
- Orchestrating engineering workflows across multiple agents working in parallel
- Decomposing work, delegating to and coordinating several coding agents at once
- Reviewing agent output to catch subtle bugs, security issues, and architectural drift
- Collaborating closely with teammates
- Keeping code correct, secure, and maintainable
- In-depth understanding of machine learning algorithms
- Familiarity with LLMs and AI agent architectures
- Proven track record of applying machine learning or AI in a production system
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of projects
- Making key design decisions
- Understanding the tradeoffs
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a fast-paced software company
Desired Qualifications
- In-depth understanding of machine learning algorithms; familiarity with LLMs and AI agent architectures is a strong plus
