Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications using Elixir and Python to power Avandra's imaging data marketplace. Build and support both early-stage and mature production systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Take ownership of projects from concept through deployment, lead technical initiatives with minimal supervision, and mentor engineers on code quality and development standards. Identify opportunities to improve system performance and evaluate emerging technologies to contribute to a culture of experimentation and technical excellence.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proven experience building and deploying production-grade applications using Elixir and/or Python
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and development best practices
- Experience developing and maintaining scalable distributed systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Demonstrated ability to independently drive projects and manage competing priorities
- Passion for continuous learning and staying current with evolving technologies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Previous experience mentoring engineers or serving in a technical leadership capacity
- Experience working within healthcare technology, health data, medical imaging, or regulated environments
- Familiarity with data-intensive applications, APIs, and large-scale platform development
