Job Summary
Design and build large-scale, multi-region infrastructure platforms and automation systems that directly improve the developer experience. Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap for core engineering platform evolution, leading proof-of-concepts and evaluating emerging technologies. Analyze complex systems to identify root causes of instability and performance bottlenecks while mentoring engineers with hands-on technical guidance. Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to engineering peers, partner teams, and leadership. This Senior Member of Technical Staff role within the Office of the SVP, Engineering focuses on building next-generation core platforms and automation systems that thousands of engineers rely on daily.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software development experience
- hands-on proficiency in Java
- hands-on proficiency in AWS
- Strong understanding of the Salesforce Platform, including its APIs (Metadata, Tooling, REST), declarative automation (Flows), and security model (Profiles, Permission Sets)
- A track record of architecting and implementing large-scale, distributed systems serving thousands of users
- Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS), including networking, security, and serverless services
- Hands-on expertise with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, service mesh, advanced orchestration patterns)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code at scale, using tools like Terraform Enterprise or custom-built solutions
- Working knowledge of CI/CD platform architecture, including Jenkins Enterprise, GitHub Actions, and custom pipeline orchestration
- Understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven patterns, and the challenges of platform scalability
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical topics clearly to varied audiences, including senior leadership
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience on large-scale Salesforce implementations for enterprise customers
- Familiarity with the wider Salesforce ecosystem, including MuleSoft and Tableau
- Experience with modern data platforms — data lakes, streaming platforms like Kafka
- Professional experience with additional languages such as Python or Node.js
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (SOX, FedRAMP, GDPR, or industry-specific requirements)
