Job Summary
Senior Software Development Engineer to build and maintain authentication features and services, collaborating with engineering, product, and design teams to deliver technical solutions from concept through launch and support. You will develop and improve mobile and web authentication flows with a focus on reliability, security, and user experience, contribute to the team's technical strategy, participate in code reviews, mentor peers, and help strengthen account protection and identity verification while working within Remitly's values. The role requires a BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience and 8+ years of experience in backend/frontend technologies (Node.js, Java, Go, TypeScript, React), with strong knowledge of modern authentication protocols and security best practices. Base compensation ranges from $152,000 to $190,000, with additional benefits and equity components provided as part of total compensation. Location is Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, with a hybrid in-office expectation (roughly three days in office per week) as part of Remitly’s connected work culture.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience in backend and/or frontend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Java, Go, TypeScript, React)
- Experience with authentication protocols and security best practices
- Ability to deliver high-quality, well-tested code
- Experience collaborating with product, engineering, and compliance partners
