Job Summary
Design and implement a complex software system with tight real-time, compute, and power constraints for the OrCam MyEye 2 assistive technology device. Develop multi-process, lock-free systems that utilize advanced computer vision algorithms to ensure seamless usage experiences for visually and hearing impaired users. Run and develop on Linux environments while managing SQL and No-SQL databases. Leverage scripting in Python, JavaScript, or Ruby to support core functionality within the multi-process architecture. Apply advanced Object-Oriented Design principles to solve real-life engineering problems involving hardware limits. Utilize version control systems like Git and cloud providers such as AWS or Azure to maintain and deploy the system.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of programming experience in either: C / C++ / Java / C# from which at least one year of hands-on experience with C / C++
- Scripting experience in one of the following: perl / python / js / ruby
- B.Sc. in computer science / Software engineering or proven extensive industrial experience
- Advanced knowledge in Object-Oriented Design and programming concepts
- Problem solver
- Team player
- Experience running and developing on Linux
- RT/Embedded programming
- Experience with SQL / NO-SQL database programming
- Working experience in with version control systems like SVN / Git
- Experience with one of the following cloud providers: AWS / Azure / Google cloud
