Job Summary
Shape architecture and design proposals that deliver near-term business value while aligning with the future-state product vision. Create prototypes, influence technical direction through RFCs, and partner with senior developers to define the platform roadmap. Break down large initiatives into parallelizable work, champion proposals through the SDLC, and contribute to improving CI/CD pipelines and core product builds. Troubleshoot persistent production issues, drive reliability and observability, and keep technical documentation current. Design and build key features for the Back End platform using modern .NET technology, optimize complex SQL Server queries, and maintain services across monolith and microservice architectures. Mentor developers through design reviews and code reviews while sharing knowledge of new technologies. Operate as a technical leader influencing how the platform evolves within a fully remote, AI-first engineering organization.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated impact beyond a single team
- In-depth experience with server-side .NET and C#
- highly distributed microservice architecture
- Proven experience designing and operating distributed, cloud-native, SaaS/multi-tenant platforms at scale, ideally on AWS
- Strong software fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, SOLID principles, and a track record of advocating for code quality
- Experience with test-driven development, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Experience designing and consuming well-designed HTTP APIs (REST, GraphQL, or similar)
- Experience with both monolith applications and microservices
- Knowledge of relational databases, such as SQL Server
- Experience mentoring developers and influencing architectural decisions across teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- comfortable operating in fast-moving environments with ambiguity and evolving requirements
- Strong initiative to improve processes, tools, methodologies, and product quality

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker, ideally with orchestration such as Kubernetes
- Experience with cloud providers beyond AWS (Azure, Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of accounting and auditing concepts
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio
