Job Summary
Senior Software Developer (Internal Applications & Services) focusing on back-end design, development, and maintenance of server-side Java/Spring Boot applications, REST APIs, and PostgreSQL data access. Contributes to the Angular front-end when needed, containerized deployments in Docker/Podman targeting Kubernetes, and modernization of legacy IBM i/Windows applications with COTS integration. Leads end-to-end feature delivery, mentors developers, participates in architecture decisions, and collaborates across cross-functional teams. Requires 5-8+ years, BS in CS or related field or equivalent, strong Java/Spring Boot, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Docker/Podman, CI/CD, Git/Jira, with working knowledge of Angular/TypeScript; familiarity with DevOps practices and enterprise tooling. Hybrid work option available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5-8+ years of software development experience
- Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework for back-end development
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
- In-depth experience with relational databases, PostgreSQL preferred
- Working knowledge of Angular and TypeScript for front-end development
- Experience building and deploying containerized applications (e.g., Docker/Podman)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins)
- Proficiency with Git-based source control (Bitbucket/GitHub) and issue tracking (Jira)
- Experience leading projects and mentoring other developers
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills
- Nice to have: Hands-on DevOps experience, pension benefits administration systems, experience maintaining or migrating legacy enterprise applications, exposure to Oracle/IBM i, familiarity with Kubernetes
