Job Summary
Develop and maintain custom PKE software tools for Mail Crypt, CRL Auto Cache, Kebler, and other applications while performing unique PKI development not covered by COTS solutions. Implement secure coding practices aligned with NIST 800-53 Rev. 5 guidance, conduct monthly source code reviews and security assessments, and create fully documented, commented source code with installation instructions. Develop test plans and procedures, execute all testing prior to acceptance, and report development milestones within the Integrated Master Schedule. Support Certificate Authority deployment and modernize PKI platforms. This role requires a current DoD Secret clearance, 7+ years of government/DoD IT experience, and full-time onsite work at Ft. Meade, MD. The team supports major agencies in the defense and intelligence sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of software development experience in government/DoD IT environment
- Must have and maintain a current DoD Secret clearance
- Expert proficiency in C++, C#, Java, VB.NET, Python, and Rust
- Proficiency with Windows and UNIX shell scripting
- Advanced knowledge of NIST 800-53 secure coding practices
- Ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation and release notes
- Understanding of certificate management, cryptographic libraries, and PKI concepts
- Experience with test planning, unit testing, and quality assurance procedures
- Must reside within a commutable distance of Ft. Meade, MD in order to work onsite full time
