Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable Python-based applications for end-to-end software testing and automation. Partner with UI, services, API, and systems engineering teams to build internal automation tools that streamline repetitive tasks and support defect identification. Execute regression, functional, and system testing activities while validating results, preparing defect reports, and generating test data using JSON, XML, SQL, and Unix scripts. Take ownership of the automated testing codebase and enhance its maintenance within an Agile environment. Requires five years of experience, a Bachelor's degree, Python 3.8+ expertise, AWS cloud knowledge, and Public Trust clearance. Hybrid role in Ashburn, VA with one to two days onsite.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) or more years of relevant experience in software testing, automation engineering, or related technical work
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Strong understanding of modern Python 3.8+ programming
- Experience with Python web frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask
- Strong background in software testing, including testing REST APIs and end-to-end workflows
- Experience working in AWS cloud environments
- Demonstrated ability and interest in automating repetitive tasks and improving engineering efficiency
- Familiarity with Python testing frameworks such as pytest or unittest
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Locust
- Knowledge of version control systems and CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Harness, or Jenkins
- Experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL databases and strong SQL skills
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust position and favorable suitability determination based on a CBP background investigation
- Hybrid position based in Ashburn, VA, with onsite support expected one to two days per week and additional onsite presence as required by mission needs
- May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds
- Flexible in working extended hours
