Job Summary
Design, develop, test, and document embedded system software for Insulet products while ensuring compliance with company policies and medical device regulations. Write design documentation and testing requirements, collaborating with Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, and Manufacturing teams to meet technical and regulatory standards. Integrate, debug, and test systems by working closely with software, QA, and hardware engineers, and participate in product design reviews. Serve as a Technical Lead to direct development team efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (preferred field of study in: Software Engineering)
- 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Master's degree in in appropriate field of study and 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Able to serve as a Technical Lead contributing to and directing the efforts of development teams, including internal and external team members
- Strong programming skills in Java, C and/or C++ is required
- Hands-on experience with developing apps on Android, iOS and Web platforms
- NOTE: This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements (requires on-site work from an Insulet office)
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated working knowledge of software design
- Experience developing software for mobile platforms and web
- Familiarity with communication systems and/or wireless protocols
- Medical device experience is preferred
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Able to be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a section of a design
- Detail oriented, with effective verbal and written communication skills
- Able to communicate with candor and trust at multiple levels of the organization
- Demonstrated abilities to leverage creativity in order to overcome obstacles and work with a sense of urgency
- Strong software engineering development skills
- Knowledge of OS concepts like dead locks, threading, mutual exclusion, interrupt services is expected
- Good understanding of RTOS and real time systems is a plus
- In-depth Object oriented programming is useful
- Able to organize and judge multiple priorities
- Agile or other software development life cycle concepts is a plus
- Knowledge of Wireless protocols like Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is a plus
