Job Summary
Dive deep into the current monolithic architecture to identify pain points and design iterative solutions. Lead the design and development of a new microservices architecture that supports scalability, maintainability, and operational excellence. Collaborate with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to evaluate tools, implement frameworks, and align on execution strategies. Write high-quality, production-ready code while guiding and mentoring engineers to foster a culture of excellence. Drive the transformation of a complex Python system into a scalable, multi-tenant, cloud-native set of services capable of processing petabytes of data daily.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive software engineering experience
- Proven expertise in architecting large-scale distributed systems
- Expertise in microservices architecture
- Demonstrated experience leading the transition from a monolithic architecture to cloud-native microservices
- Proficiency in Java
- Proficiency in Go
- Experience with Python
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP)
- Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker
- Strong technical communication skills
- Ability to articulate architectural concepts
- Ability to influence engineering direction across teams, departments, and stakeholders
- Only Prague-based employees are required to work from the office at least 2 days/week
Desired Qualifications
- Additional experience in Python considered a plus
