Senior Software Architect

Job Summary
Dive deep into the current monolithic architecture to identify pain points and design iterative solutions, then lead the transition to a scalable, cloud-native microservices ecosystem. Collaborate with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to define objectives, timelines, and execution strategies while writing high-quality, production-ready code in Java, Go, or Python. Mentor engineers on best practices and architectural insights to foster a culture of excellence. This high-visibility role involves breaking down a complex Python system into a multi-tenant, cloud-native set of services capable of processing petabytes of data daily. You will work in Prague, Brno, or remote locations within the Czech Republic, with Prague-based employees required to work from the office two days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive software engineering experience
- Proven expertise in architecting large-scale distributed systems
- Expertise in microservices architecture
- Demonstrated experience leading the transition from a monolithic architecture to cloud-native microservices
- Proficiency in Java
- Proficiency in Go
- Experience with Python
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP)
- Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes
- Experience with container orchestration using Docker
- Strong technical communication skills
- Ability to articulate architectural concepts
- Ability to influence engineering direction across teams, departments, and stakeholders
- Only Prague-based employees are required to work from the office at least 2 days/week
