Job Summary
Manage a complex caseload of adults with care and support needs, undertaking Care Act assessments, reviews, and support planning using strengths-based approaches. Lead safeguarding enquiries, make threshold decisions, and chair assessment, planning, and review meetings while contributing to Best Interest processes. Provide professional leadership through mentoring and supervision of social workers, ASYEs, trainees, and colleagues. Coordinate support plans, promote independence via Direct Payments and Personal Budgets, and collaborate with health professionals and partner agencies. Maintain accurate case records and contribute to service improvement and quality assurance activities within a busy Adult Social Care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW
- Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England
- Significant post-qualified Adult Social Care experience
- Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014
- Strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Strong understanding of Human Rights legislation
- Strong understanding of Adult Safeguarding procedures
- Experience providing professional support, mentoring, supervision, or guidance to colleagues
- Excellent assessment, analytical, communication, and report-writing skills
- Ability to exercise professional judgement in complex situations
- Proven experience working effectively with health services, community organisations, carers, and partner agencies
- Experience leading safeguarding enquiries
- Experience managing risk within complex adult social care cases
