Job Summary
Senior Site Supervisor oversees the daily operation of the assigned DD IRA site and ensures delivery of quality services for individuals under NYS OPWDD regulations and agency policy. Responsibilities include supervising staff (performance management, orientation, hiring, discipline), ensuring adequate 24/7 staffing coverage, providing person-centered support, ensuring site safety and life-safety compliance, participating in Life Plan meetings, maintaining and documenting assessments and records, coordinating with program nursing staff, handling family communications, coaching and counseling individuals, administering medications per regulations, managing finances and petty cash, overseeing maintenance, transportation, menus and groceries, documenting incidents, ensuring confidentiality, and completing required reports and trainings. Requires leadership and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, maintain professional conduct, and meet ongoing certification requirements. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license with reliable vehicle access and be able to complete required certifications (Medication Administration, CPR/First-Aid, SCIP) within specified timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in related field and 3+ years related experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and at least 5 years related experience
- Leadership experience required; supervisory experience preferred
- Must possess a valid NYS license with good driving record and have access to a reliable, insured vehicle; must be able to maintain certification as an agency driver
- Within two months of hire: must successfully complete all Agency and program required orientation/trainings and become certified as a Driver for Personal and Agency vehicles, which may include driving 12 to 15 passenger vans
- Within four months of hire: must obtain certifications in CPR/First-Aid and SCIP
- Must be able to monitor and direct the work of others
- Must maintain all required certifications/trainings and attend additional trainings as required for skill enhancement
- Must have acceptable physical ability to perform within the DD program functional job description, including but not limited to climbing stairs, lifting regularly, pushing wheelchairs, and assisting in transferring individuals
