Job Summary
Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Amwell responsible for supporting production systems on platforms like ESXi, Azure, AWS, and GCP; developing and maintaining automation frameworks and IaC using Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet; configuring and patching Linux (and basic Windows) systems; ensuring security/compliance (PCI, HIPAA); building monitoring, alerting, and self-healing automation; working with ELK stack for analytics; managing identity/authentication (LDAP, AD, MFA); scripting in Python/Bash/PowerShell; participating in 24/7 on-call and maintenance tasks; combining on-prem and cloud experiences to drive scalable, reliable infrastructure automation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing Linux-based systems
- Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management technologies (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or similar)
- Experience with on-prem and cloud-based virtualization platforms (ESXi, Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Experience with Elasticsearch/Logstash/Kibana (ELK) analytics stack
- Experience managing Identity and Authentication solutions (LDAP, Active Directory, MFA)
- Strong scripting and software development skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Experience developing monitoring, alerting, and self-healing automation solutions
- Experience with provisioning, patch management, monitoring, configuration management, and incident response
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
- Experience supporting large-scale production environments with automation-first mindset
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
- Automation tooling and integration in hybrid cloud/on-prem environments
- Familiarity with security/compliance standards (PCI, HIPAA)
- Ability to design and maintain IaC solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet
