Job Summary
Lead and support the Safety, Health & Quality team's delivery of projects in Ireland by acting as the Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP). Prepare and submit project AF1s, confirm safety file information, and coordinate design safety aspects across disciplines. Conduct inspections and audits, review health and safety documentation, and provide expert technical advice on HSE requirements. Manage internal procedures, develop junior staff, and lead design workshops to challenge assumptions. Submit safety files to clients upon project completion and coordinate temporary works between designers. Ensure all activities comply with Irish legislative requirements and Turner & Townsend internal standards while managing time effectively across diverse project values.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of Irish safety, health and environmental legislation
- Understanding of construction best practice
- Knowledge of the implementation of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management system standards
- Sound understanding of the safety and health issues associated with construction projects
- Ability to analyse situations, diagnose problems, identify key issues and produce logical, practical and acceptable solutions
- Excellent communication / interpersonal skills including the ability to prepare / deliver presentations and lead meetings
- Ability to compile inspection / audits reports and undertake statistical analysis (e.g. trend analysis) in a timely manner
- Assertiveness, fairness and consistency when implementing client, company or legislative requirements
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and handle conflicting priorities
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify and pursue business opportunities
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a similar qualification awarded by a recognised institution
- Lead Auditor certification
- Full Irish driving license
- Circa 10 years + relevant experience
