Job Summary
Senior Shopify Full Stack Developer to architect and deliver scalable, high-performance eCommerce solutions using Shopify (Hydrogen/Storefront API), Gadget.dev, and headless CMS platforms (Contentful, Sanity, Strapi). Lead enterprise-scale initiatives, collaborate with product/design/DevOps/QA, design multi-region architectures, and ensure performance targets (Core Web Vitals, store speed) are met. Requires 5+ years Shopify experience (Shopify Plus, Storefront/Admin APIs, Checkout customization), strong frontend (React, Next.js/Remix, TS) and backend (Node.js, Express.js, serverless), GraphQL design, Gadget.dev expertise, and experience with headless CMSs and multi-tenant, localized storefronts. Must be a proactive leader who mentors engineers, drives code quality, and coordinates cross-functional teams. Benefits include 100% remote work and independent contractor contract.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience developing with Shopify including Shopify Plus, Storefront API, Admin API, and Checkout customization
- Strong understanding of Hydrogen, Oxygen, Liquid, Shopify Functions, and Shopify theme development
- Front-end: React, Next.js/Remix, Tailwind CSS, TypeScript
- Backend: Node.js, Express.js, serverless functions
- Database: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Shopify-native metafields & customer objects
- Experience designing GraphQL schemas and working with Apollo or Relay
- Hands-on with Gadget.dev and headless CMS platforms like Contentful, Sanity, or AEM
- Experience modeling content architecture for flexibility and localization
- Ability to lead large-scale Shopify implementations across multiple brands, currencies, and localized storefronts
- Clear, proactive communicator who values documentation and async collaboration
- Leadership experience in development teams
- On-time delivery with high test coverage and performance targets
