Job Summary
Support unhoused individuals, couples, and residents with pets through intensive housing-focused case management, crisis intervention, and advocacy grounded in harm reduction and trauma-informed frameworks. Deliver strengths-based counseling, referrals, and supportive services to assist clients in achieving housing stability while maintaining safe shelter operations. Lead training and onboarding for Shelter Emergency Workers, collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to optimize quality of life plans, and implement enhanced support frameworks for improved shelter operations. Work 12-hour rotating shifts including days and evenings at a rate of $27.53 to $31.91 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- 12-hour rotating shifts, including both days and evenings
- proven experience in crisis intervention and housing-focused case management
- demonstrated skill in supporting people impacted by housing instability, poverty, social isolation, mental health issues and substance use
- several years of progressive experience in crisis intervention and housing-focused case management
- diploma or degree in a social services-related field
- Advanced crisis intervention skills and experience
- in-depth knowledge / experience of mental health and addiction support
- Ability to work in a lower - barrier, housing-focused shelter environment with women, men transgender and non-binary adults - both singles and couples
- Demonstrated ability to provide services to individuals impacted by poverty, trauma, mental health issues and substance use within harm reduction, trauma-informed, anti-racist/anti-oppressive frameworks
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors and in an environment that accommodates pets/animal
- A valid driver's license
