Job Summary

Lead cross-functional engineering teams (EE, ME, and Software) to drive complex, ruggedized products from initial concept through full production. Collaboratively define product requirements, translate them into actionable technical specifications, and manage Design for Manufacturing activities including BOM management and pre-production transitions. Proactively evaluate technical and schedule risks, identify bottlenecks, and implement mitigation paths while ensuring compliance with defense standards such as MIL-STD-810 and EMI/EMC. Plan and execute comprehensive system integration, overseeing hands-on testing, environmental qualification, and field evaluations. Provide hands-on technical mentorship to junior engineers and lead weekly cross-functional meetings to deliver high-level project status updates. This role supports Silvus Technologies' mission to provide mission-critical communications for defense and public safety agencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Engineering Technology, or a closely related technical field
  • 6-9+ years of hands-on experience leading physical product design, system analysis, prototyping, and successfully driving complex products into full-scale production
  • Strong familiarity with Agile PLM (or equivalent Product Lifecycle Management systems)
  • Hands-on experience with hardware test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, digital logic analyzers, RF spectrum analyzers)
  • Demonstrated experience navigating MIL-STD requirements and managing outsourced or in-house compliance testing
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced equipment manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects, competing deadlines, and transitioning designs to the factory floor
  • Exceptional team leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire, collaborate, and demonstrate grit within multidisciplinary engineering environments (EE, ME, Software)
  • Advanced deductive reasoning, data analysis, and critical thinking skills to resolve complex technical blockers
  • Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs
  • Must be available for a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days onsite per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays)
  • Must be able to perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves
  • Must be able to kneel or squat to access lower shelves
  • Must be able to walk and move in the labs

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or a closely related field
  • High proficiency in modern engineering collaboration tools, project management software, and standard productivity suites (MS Office / Google Workspace)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical risks into clear updates for senior management and non-technical stakeholders
