Job Summary
Senior Security Service Manager role within CIBC’s Cyber Security, focusing on leading security service management for web-facing applications and digital services. Responsible for evaluating security technologies (Akamai ION, WAF, DDoS mitigation), coordinating risk assessments, collaborating with application development, security engineering, and oversight bodies, and developing operational plans to reduce risk and enable secure innovation. Will oversee testing requirements, ensure governance/compliance, develop documentation (RACI matrices, playbooks, procedures), and drive automation and metrics to improve security services. Requires 5+ years in security operations, hands-on Akamai ION/WAF/DDoS experience, knowledge of NIST/ISO/IEC standards, and a degree/diploma in a relevant field; professional certifications (CISSP/CISM/Akamai) are assets. Role is hybrid with 1-3 days on-site in Toronto, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Security operations
- Hands-on experience in Akamai ION, WAF, DDoS mitigation, and web application security controls
- Knowledge of NIST and ISO/IEC security standards
- Degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, Risk Management (or related field)
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Akamai certifications are assets
- Ability to translate requirements into auditable security controls
- Strong collaboration with risk management, application security, IAM, DLP, and network security teams
- Experience in evaluating security technologies and conducting vendor assessments
- Hybrid work arrangement familiarity (onsite 1-3 days/week)
