Job Summary
Senior Security Operations Engineer at Brex focused on preventing, detecting and responding to security threats across corporate and cloud environments. You’ll work on incident response, threat hunting, and building tools to improve security capabilities, collaborating with engineering and IT teams, and contributing to open source projects like Substation. Role requires handling security incidents, designing secure systems, and driving remediation across corporate security, detection & response, and infrastructure security domains. Must be comfortable with evolving priorities, diverse teams, and a MVP-driven approach. Hybrid Vancouver-based with in-office requirement and optional remote work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field OR equivalent training / fellowship OR 5+ years work experience
- Experience in corporate security, detection & response or infrastructure security with security alert triage and incident response
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems and DevOps workflows in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience deploying and maintaining security services/tools (SIEM, SOAR, data pipelines, endpoint tooling, cloud security tools)
- Coding experience in Go and Python
