Senior Security Operations Engineer

Senior Security Operations Engineer at Brex responsible for preventing, detecting, and responding to security threats across Brex’s corporate and cloud environments. You’ll build and use tools to enhance security capabilities, contribute to corporate security, detection & response and infrastructure security domains, and collaborate with engineering and operations teams to remediate security issues within SLAs. The role emphasizes secure system design, MVP-focused delivery, and mentoring, with opportunities to work on open source projects (Substation) and contribute to Brex’s Tech Blog. Located in San Francisco with a hybrid model (minimum three days in the office weekly and up to four weeks remote annually). Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent training/experience, strong incident response and security operations background, experience with CI/CD and cloud security tooling, and coding proficiency in Go/Python. Bonus points for broader programming language skills, distributed systems security in cloud/Kubernetes, and open source contributions.
