Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer with a security focus to design, develop, and secure satellite and ground-station software. Responsibilities include establishing secure development processes across the engineering team, defining end-to-end security practices across the system lifecycle, designing and validating security-focused features for flight and ground software, expanding test coverage, integrating security checks into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating on architecture and peer reviews. Requires 4+ years of software experience, Python proficiency, embedded software experience, cryptography in constrained environments, Secure SDLC experience, GNU/Linux proficiency, and strong communication in English. Desirable knowledge includes agile/DevSecOps practices, low-level protocols (I2C, RS232, CAN), C, Django, databases (Postgres, InfluxDB), queues (Redis, RabbitMQ), AWS security, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Location options include Buenos Aires or Córdoba (Argentina) or Montevideo (Uruguay) with hybrid work and travel to the Uruguay facility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 4+ years of experience architecting and integrating scalable software solutions
- 3+ years of professional experience developing software in Python
- 2+ years of experience developing embedded software
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing security-focused features within complex software systems
- Experience with applied cryptography in constrained environments
- Experience establishing or integrating secure development processes (Secure SDLC)
- Proven experience in full software development life cycle
- Proficiency in GNU/Linux for software development
