Senior Security Engineer

Senior Security Engineer at ngrok building security from the ground up. Define how security works, partner with engineering and leadership to create automated guardrails, self-service tooling, and secure defaults that scale with the team. Responsibilities include auditing security tooling and cloud posture, shipping developer-facing security tooling in CI/CD, conducting structured risk assessments, establishing AI safety guardrails, standing up baseline detection and incident response, and owning the security program end-to-end. Must be proficient in Go or Java, Rust, C, or C++, with hands-on cloud security experience (AWS IAM/VPC/CloudTrail/GuardDuty) and knowledge of AI/ML security risks and detection engineering. Bonus points for building internal security platforms or developer-facing tooling. Tech stack includes Go, TypeScript, Kubernetes, Terraform, Protobuf, Postgres, Kafka, and Buildkite. This is a remote role for candidates outside the Bay Area and a hybrid role for candidates within commuting distance to San Francisco.
