Job Summary
Senior Security Engineer, AI Platform role within Chainguard’s IT Engineering group focusing on end-to-end governance and security of the managed AI platform. Responsibilities include monitoring AI roadmaps and vendor communications, configuring and governing AI platform settings across Claude and ChatGPT, managing API keys and secrets hygiene, SSO/SCIM provisioning, building financial visibility and usage intelligence, developing MCP servers and agentic AI tooling, hardening the AI security posture, incident response readiness for AI systems, and collaboration with Governance & Trust and AI Adoption committees. Requires hands-on coding in Python and/or TypeScript, experience with GCP, and strong ability to translate platform changes into guidance for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in security engineering, IT engineering, or a DevOps role with meaningful security responsibility throughout
- Hands-on DevOps background: Git-based config management, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code mindset applied to platform administration
- Direct, hands-on experience administering Claude (Anthropic) and/or ChatGPT (OpenAI) at an organizational level
- Working knowledge of AI risk factors: prompt injection, data leakage, agentic failure modes, and incident response options when AI systems behave unexpectedly
- Comfortable writing production-quality code in Python and/or TypeScript for dashboards, automation, and MCP server development
- Experience with GCP and Cloud native environments
- Familiarity with SSO/SCIM provisioning in SaaS-heavy environments (Okta or similar)
- Strong written communication; translating technical AI platform changes for non-technical stakeholders
