Senior Section Manager, Automation

Job Summary

Set and control department goals, budget, and objectives for the automation area. Lead the automation department to meet site strategies while managing cost center expenses, project budgets, and delivery for plant/facility programs. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define action plans, timelines, and budgets for project goals, and manage automation resources. Administer the annual site capital plan and department budget, delivering last best estimates to finance and project accounting. Lead strategic planning for the next fiscal year capital plan and drive the site capital long-range plan from development to submission. Direct engineering and commissioning documents filing in the Technical Library and CAD repository. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, environmental, health, and safety requirements, and promote continuous improvement. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience with 10+ years in the Biopharma industry. Base pay ranges from $150,000 to $210,000.

  • Able to interact and communicate with Senior Management and other groups within AbbVie engineering
  • Maintains strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and collaborators
  • Demonstrated competency with financial systems and in fiscal control
  • Computer literate including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Outlook), AutoCAD, SAP, among others
  • Listens to and understands other's point of view and articulates tactfully and respectfully one's own perspective orally, in writing, and in presentations
  • Possesses a strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors
  • Exercises judgment and advises management as to the appropriate actions

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, science, or closely related discipline
  • Equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence
  • 10+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience
  • Post-graduate education/degree
  • Post-graduate education/degree may contribute towards the desired years of experience
