Job Summary

Senior Seat Structures Engineer / CVE leads major and minor design activities for aircraft seating and cabin interior products, manages associated certification activities in accordance with EASA Part 21J requirements, and acts as the technical focal point for certification, structural substantiation, and stress-related issues. Responsibilities include compiling and/or reviewing structural substantiation documents supporting certification and integration of seats, seat furniture, and cabin interior monuments (galleys, lavatories, class dividers); preparing STC data packages to demonstrate compliance and support post-delivery installation of seating products on large aircraft programmes; and collaborating with Boeing teams and internal/external stakeholders to ensure products are delivered in the required condition, quality, and compliance. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline, 8+ years of experience in commercial aircraft design within an EASA Part 21, Subpart J Design Organisation or equivalent, experience as a CVE for Structures (Panel 3), certification experience under EASA Part 21J, and experience in seat development and certification from concept through approval (including test witnessing and ETSO standards). Preferred skills cover deep knowledge of EASA airworthiness regulations (CS-25, ACs/AMCs), strong attention to detail in interiors and seats with certification of novel features, leadership and mentorship abilities, and proficiency with ENOVIA, CATIA V5/V6, HyperWorks, and PATRAN/NASTRAN. The role requires flexibility to support meetings across time zones and is based in Hamburg, Germany, with no relocation offered. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Stress, Structures, Mechanical, or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in commercial aircraft design within an EASA Part 21, Subpart J Design Organisation, or equivalent
  • Experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) for Structures (Panel 3)
  • Demonstrated experience with certification under EASA Part 21J
  • Experience in seat development and certification from concept through approval, including test witnessing and ETSO performance standards (e.g. C127, C39 series) for aircraft seats
