Job Summary
Senior SDET Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and executing manual and automated test scripts based on business requirements. Build, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing; create and manage test data and environments; perform White Box, Black Box, integration, UI, and API testing. Requires hands-on experience with UI/API automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST-assured, Postman), strong SDLC/Agile/Scrum knowledge, proficiency in at least one programming language (Java/Scala/Python/JavaScript), familiarity with Docker and CI/CD, and use of Jira for defect tracking. Devotion to quality, collaboration across cross-functional teams, and willingness to travel periodically to Hyderabad for a hybrid/onsite arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in quality engineering, software testing, or test automation
- Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum processes
- Hands-on experience with UI, API automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST-assured or Postman
- Proficiency in Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Working knowledge of SQL for data validation
- Experience in at least one programming/scripting language: Java, Scala, Python, or JavaScript
- Basic understanding of Containers (Docker) and CI/CD processes
- Experience with version control systems like Git, Bitbucket, GitHub or Gitlab
- Working knowledge of API testing, backend validations, and functional automation
- Clear understanding of defect lifecycle, reporting, and issue tracking tools like Jira
- Strong collaboration skills and a mindset for quality ownership
- Exposure to AWS services like S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Glue or similar (desirable)
- Understanding of Agile delivery frameworks – Scrum or Kanban (desirable)
- Knowledge of Performance Testing tools (desirable)
- Basic knowledge of Big Data Testing (desirable)
