Job Summary
The Senior Scientist position focuses on leading algorithm development and signal processing for the next generation of space-based remote sensing. Responsibilities include converting algorithm definitions into software applications, mentoring junior members, and collaborating across programs for software integration. The role requires a degree in electrical engineering, signals processing, or physics, along with software development skills in languages such as C++, Python, or MATLAB. Candidates must have a strong background in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technology and must be able to work within multi-vendor environments. U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance
- Degree in electrical engineering, signals processing, physics, or a related technology field (10 years of professional experience in lieu of degree)
- Background in SAR and how to translate SAR technologies into working software
- Software skills in an applicable language (C++, Python, MATLAB, Rust, or similar)
- Familiarity working in multi-vendor environments and coordinating the integration of software into complex systems
- Experience working with government experts and tying algorithm development to requirements
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with various radar modes: GMTI, ATR, or similar
- Experience working with U.S. Government satellite customers
- Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance with a CI polygraph
- Strong personal networks in radar through previous work, academic research, or professional memberships
