Senior Scientist / Scientist, Cell-Based Assays & Immunology

Job Summary
Design, develop, and execute cell-based and immunology assays to evaluate candidate potency, cytotoxicity, and biological activity. Perform reporter assays, flow cytometry, and FACS for cellular characterization, while culturing and engineering human primary immune cells. Prepare RNA-LNP formulations and develop scalable, high-throughput plate-based workflows including miniaturization and SOP creation. Collaborate with molecular biology, computational, and automation teams to generate datasets for downstream analysis and model development. Establish laboratory infrastructure, experimental standards, and best practices while mentoring junior scientists. This laboratory-based role supports discovery and optimization of RNA-LNP-based cell therapies for autoimmune diseases and cancer within an early-stage biotechnology startup.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- demonstrated scientific leadership
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing complex cell-based assays
- Extensive hands-on experience with flow cytometry and FACS, including multicolor panel design and cell sorting
- Strong experience working with human primary cells, particularly primary immune cells
- Experience with RNA-LNP delivery systems and/or engineered cell therapies (including CAR-based platforms or related technologies)
- Proven ability to independently lead assay development from concept through implementation
- Excellent experimental troubleshooting, analytical, and scientific communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment where adaptability, initiative, and collaboration are essential
