Job Summary
Develop system concepts and signal processing algorithms for remote sensing while working as part of a small team to architect, develop, implement, and test RF signal processing systems. Model and simulate advanced RF systems, new sensing paradigms, and multi-function RF concepts to execute advanced sensor concept demonstrations. Requires active Secret security clearance, a BS with 5+ years of experience or MS with 3+ years, and proficiency in MATLAB and Python. Full-time salary range is $139,000 - $170,000. Located near Boston, MA, Arlington, VA, Dayton, OH, Melbourne, FL, and Carlsbad, CA. STR specializes in advanced R&D for defense, intelligence, and national security in next-generation sensors, radar, sonar, communications, and electronic warfare.
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is needed by the U.S. Government
- BS with 5+ years of experience, MS with 3+ years of experience, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
- Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python as well as other higher-level languages
- Strong Mathematical, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- working knowledge in one or more of the following areas: advanced signal processing, radar systems, RF remote sensing, or resource management
- strong background in a foundational field for these areas (i.e. – mathematics, physics, etc.)
- application of AI/ML principals into advanced signal processing algorithms
- skills working as part of multi-disciplinary teams designing and analyzing signal processing algorithms for complex systems
- Strong technical, interpersonal, communication, and technical leadership skills
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
- Experience with advanced RF system concepts, multi-dimensional signal processing, waveform design, system optimization, or multi-function phased array apertures
- Experience with algorithm optimization for real time systems, especially radar or remote sensing
