Job Summary
Senior Scientist II Medicinal Chemistry in Oncology to conduct synthetic-route design and execution, optimize safety/ADME/efficacy, scale-up materials for in vivo studies, apply novel methodologies to challenging targets, analyze products by NMR/HPLC/LCMS/SFC, interpret preclinical data to inform next-target design, and create presentations/manuscripts for internal and international audiences. Requires PhD in Organic Chemistry or MSc with sufficient experience, leadership in projects, and ability to mentor junior scientists. Salary range $148,500–$202,500 per year; US & Puerto Rico location in North Chicago, IL; in-person work.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Organic Chemistry or related field with 2 years of lab research experience OR MSc in Organic Chemistry or related field with 4 years of lab research experience
- experience conceiving and executing synthetic organic chemistry projects
- characterizing organic compounds using NMR, HPLC, LCMS, SFC to quantify yields and purity
- designing and executing multi-gram syntheses and multi-step campaigns
- training and mentoring junior scientists
- lead scientist experience on projects
- proficiency with electronic lab notebooks
