Job Summary
Lead the development, optimization, and execution of functional pharmacology assays using iPSC-derived cellular and organoid/tissue models to support discovery programs; drive lead-candidate selection across multiple disease indications through rigorous in vitro pharmacological characterization; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Discovery Research, Antibody Engineering, Protein Sciences, Structural Biology, PK/Metabolism, Safety Assessment) and act as the primary technical expert for Cellular Pharmacology on project teams; design high-throughput sample prep and data analysis workflows, architect complex screening cascades, manage third-party vendors/CROs to ensure timely data delivery, and present findings to project teams and senior leadership; relocation benefits available; expected salary range for California location: $124,300 to $230,900; PhD with 3+ years postdoc/pharma experience required; hands-on iPSC work and CRISPR editing experience desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology, ophthalmology, neuroscience or a related field
- Minimum of three years postdoctoral/pharma experience with a strong record of high-profile publications
- Experience with ophthalmology/neuroscience therapeutics in drug discovery
- Hands-on experience with iPSCs
- Differentiation of iPSCs to various cell types for disease modeling and drug discovery
- CRISPR gene editing in iPSCs
- Ability to adopt and leverage rapidly advancing, new technologies to promote strategic aims
- Collaborative scientist with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams
- Focus on quantitative methods to drive results
