Job Summary
Senior Scientist focused on AI Alliance & Innovation to scout, evaluate, and integrate external AI capabilities across academia, startups, and technology vendors; translate scientific needs into partnership opportunities, co-design agile pilots, and drive AI-driven solutions into biologics workflows across global teams (UK/US/China); responsibilities include opportunity sourcing, due diligence, pilot co-design and execution, data and model integration, cross-functional collaboration, alliance management (MOUs/PoCs/MSAs), and thought leadership within AZ's AI ecosystem; Shanghai hub execution with bilingual collaboration and travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in mathematics, physics, computer science, computational biology, bioinformatics, or related disciplines
- Hands-on experience applying machine learning/deep learning to biological sequences or structures (proteins, antibodies, peptides)
- Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX)
- Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced, multidisciplinary, and cross-geographical environments; strong stakeholder management skills
- Clear and effective communication skills in English; Mandarin proficiency for partner engagement in China
