Senior Safety Manager - Self Perform

Job Summary
Lead and manage the Safety and Health Program for the Self Perform Division, overseeing program administration, site-specific safety plans, and continuous improvement initiatives. Enforce compliance with contractual requirements for all trade contractors and suppliers while coordinating the Health and Safety Committee to ensure actionable outcomes. Analyze incidents and near misses to implement corrective actions, collaborate with inspectors during audits, and maintain OSHA/MIOSHA recordkeeping standards. Provide expert coaching to field personnel and assist in resolving workers' compensation claims. Requires proven experience as a Senior Safety Leader in construction, comprehensive knowledge of state regulations, and willingness to travel across Michigan.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior Safety Leader or Safety Director within the construction industry
- Demonstrated success managing safety programs for multiple project sites or market sectors
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA/MIOSHA standards and other applicable safety and environmental regulations
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization and with external partners
- Willingness and ability to travel across the state of Michigan as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior Safety Leader or Safety Director within the construction industry (self-perform experience strongly preferred)
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CHST, CSP, OSHA 500/510, or equivalent)
